WePlay SRL and CELTO Create Award-Winning Immersive Soundscape at the Belgian Pavilion, Expo Osaka 2025
Osaka, Japan – In a landmark project that showcases Belgian expertise on the global stage, WePlay SRL (www.weplay.be) was selected as the official audio integrator for the Belgian Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025. Partnering with CELTO, the Belgian company delivered a sophisticated, high-performance sound system that has operated flawlessly for more than six months under intense daily use — with zero downtime, zero failures, and zero maintenance interventions.
The installation is built around CELTO’s renowned iFIX series, chosen for its exceptional clarity, compact size, weather-resistant design, and outstanding value. WePlay deployed more than 70 CELTO loudspeakers across the entire pavilion: over 60 iFIX6, 12 iFIX7, and 6 iFIX13S. The entire system is powered by 15 CELTO SQ8800 amplifiers and managed through more than 24 time-coded sources, ensuring perfectly synchronized, immersive audio throughout the two-floor structure.
Every zone of the pavilion benefits from tailored sound atmospheres. The main exhibition areas, the Wall of Fame, the elegant restaurant, the Biscoff-themed shop, and the meeting rooms all feature dedicated soundscapes designed to enhance the visitor experience without ever overpowering the visuals. Over 100 metres of connecting walkways have been seamlessly equipped with iFIX6 loudspeakers for continuous, uniform coverage as visitors move between levels. In the iconic octagon — the pavilion’s signature wet zone featuring spectacular vertical gardens — iFIX7 units were ingeniously concealed within the living plants, delivering crystal-clear audio while remaining completely invisible to the public.
The technical performance has been nothing short of remarkable. After six full months of continuous operation (open 12+ hours a day, seven days a week, hosting tens of thousands of visitors), the system continues to run at peak performance. No speaker has failed, no amplifier has required service, and no software glitches have occurred. This level of reliability in a high-humidity, high-traffic environment is rare — and it directly results from CELTO’s robust engineering combined with WePlay’s meticulous installation.
The project has already earned several international awards for technical excellence, integration quality, and innovative discreet design. Most importantly, the entire installation was delivered within a tightly controlled budget, achieving what many describe as an “unbeatable quality/price ratio” in the professional audio industry.
